About the tech conference
The purpose of the conference is to discuss how to best engage stakeholders from disadvantaged communities in the Coordinated Grid Planning Process (CGPP). The CGPP is an iterative, multi-year planning effort that depends on electric system modeling to make projections for future transmission needs. The CGPP is intended to inform Commission decisions on the transmission investments that are needed to support Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals including achieving the target for 100% of clean electric generation by 2040 (The CLCPA was enacted as Chapter 106 of the laws of 2019, codified, in part, in Public Service Law ยง66-p).
Modeling studies undertaken through the CGPP require planners to make assumptions about future conditions. As the Department advances the work of the CGPP, staff seeks to ensure that considerations for advancing climate justice are included in this process. Therefore, staff has prepared the attached questions, and asks that stakeholders provide responses to them in advance of or during the conference to better inform the process. Responses may be sent to [email protected].
The conference will be recorded and a link to the recording will be filed in this proceeding.
