Petition Overview

Comments are requested concerning a petition filed by Liberty Utilities (St. Lawrence Gas) Corp. (the Company), pursuant to Section 68 of the Public Service Law, seeking an amendment to the Company’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. Approval of the requested amendment would expand the Company’s distribution area to encompass two dairy farm parcels within the Town of Malone (the Town), Franklin County.

While the Company has franchise rights throughout the Town, it has not yet been granted approval by the Public Service Commission to operate in that portion of the Town where the two farms are located (see Case 20-G-0378, Petition of Liberty Utilities (St. Lawrence Gas) Corp. for an Expedited Order to its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity Pursuant to Section 68 of the New York Public Service Law, Order Approving Modification to Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (issued November 19, 2020)).
