Case Information
Case 24-T-0677 - Petition of New York State Electric & Gas Corporation for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need, Pursuant to Article VII of the Public Service Law, for the Jennison Transmission Solution Project.
public comment is sought regarding an application filed by New York State Electric & Gas Corporation (the Applicant) for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need (Certificate) pursuant to Article VII of the Public Service Law authorizing it to construct, operate, and maintain the Jennison Transmission Solution Project (Project). The Applicant proposes to rebuild and relocate the Jennison Substation in the Town of Bainbridge, Chenango County, approximately one mile from its current location. This would require re-routing several transmission and sub-transmission lines from the substation’s present location to the new location. In addition, the Applicant proposes to rebuild Line 946 between the relocated Jennison Substation and the East Norwich Substation (including connecting the rebuilt line to the newly built North Pond Substation) and rebuild Line 949 between the proposed Jennison Substation and the Eastern Terminus in the Town of Hamden in Delaware County. Approximately 47.5 miles of new 115-kV transmission lines will be constructed to rebuild and relocate existing lines in the Project.
The North Pond Substation will be in the Town of Guilford. It is being constructed to connect the High Bridge Wind Farm to the Applicant’s system. It is expected to be in service and transferred to the Applicant’s ownership prior to construction of this proposed Project. If the proposed Project is approved, the Applicant intends to renumber the 6.6 miles of existing line 946 between the North Pond Substation and the East Norwich Substation as Line 734.
