Department of Public Service Staff will co-host two virtual stakeholder workshops with New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYC EDC) as part of this proceeding and NYC DOT and NYC EDC’s Smart Truck Electrification and Freight Decarbonization Feasibility Study (Study).
The purpose of the Business Stakeholder Workshop on March 13, 2024, is to examine Medium- and Heavy-Duty (MHD) electrification efforts with a focus on business stakeholders, including MHD fleet owners, while the purpose of the Environmental Justice Stakeholder Workshop on March 14, 2024, is to examine MHD electrification efforts with a focus on environmental justice concerns.
During the workshops, Staff will provide an overview of the MHD proceeding; NYC DOT and NYC EDC will provide an overview of the Study and its findings to date; and feedback from stakeholders will be gathered on topics such as infrastructure placement, understanding local impacts, and public involvement and representation.
