PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on August 19, 2022, KCE NY 2, LLC (KCE) filed a petition seeking approval from the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity pursuant to Section 68 of the Public Service Law to construct. own, and operate an energy storage facility. The petition also seeks an order approving an lightened regulatory regime and an order for an expedited proceeding pursuant to 16 NYCRR Section 21 . 10. The proposed facility will be located in the Town of Montgomery, Orange County, NY.
The KCE project will consist of forty-one inverter and medium voltage transformer containers with a total capacity of 169 megawatts and up to one hundred sixty-four battery container installations with a total capacity of 300 megawatt hours. Interconnection to New York's electric grid will predominately use existing infrastructure and the proposed Project will connect Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation Coldenham substation via an overhead line.
A Virtual Public Statement Hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
